THE GIFTS THAT WERE THE BIGGEST HITS

I thought I’d share some of the gifts I bought for Christmas presents. Gift giving is my love language and I am always keeping my eyes and ears open for ideas. This isn’t a comprehensive list, but it’s the things that were “stand outs.”

BEST GIFT FOR JACK: The Yoto Player

Out of everything given, I think this is the number one. We have and love the Tonie Box, but I knew Jack would love his own Yoto player. The Tonie box has turned into a playroom toy that both boys use equally– we have a great collection of characters, though some characters are more beloved than others. The Yoto player is like Jack’s personal device and he loves it. Originally, I thought it would be the perfect gift because the boys share a room and he’s often not ready to sleep when Rory is… so I thought it would be a way for him to quietly entertain himself until he was sleepy.

He has used the Yoto every single day. I got the travel one and the size is perfect. I haven’t even figured out all the tips and tricks (like making our own cards and whatnot) and it’s still the number one winner. I think eventually Rory will get his own too– it’s that good.

BEST GIFT FOR RORY: Stepping Stones

I was on the hunt for the Stapelstein stepping stones, but they didn’t have the colors I wanted. I was signed up for every alert on Facebook Marketplace and eBay and was on the hunt. I got a targeted ad from for these “dupes” and immediately ordered. The price was so much better too. When I bought them, I thought the boys would both like it but I didn’t realize just how much they’d love the stones. They’re staples in our house now! Both boys love them and they’re excellent for creative play. We stack. We knock them over. We jump. We spin. Knocked it out of the park!

BEST GIFT FOR MY PARENTS: Away Suitcases

I got both of my parents coordinating/matching Away carry-on suitcases. I love mine so much and I felt like they were ready for an upgrade. Especially because I hope they have more travel plans coming up in the next few years. A good suitcase makes a huge difference!

BEST GIFT FOR MY SISTER: Chanel Ballet Flats

I called my mom to make sure this wasn’t a weird gift but she assured me my sister would love and… confirmed, she does. My feet grew during pregnancy which has led to many of my shoes to no longer fit. Including some beloved pairs, like the Chanel flats I bought in Paris. I was holding onto them because I didn’t want to sell them… and realized my sister would 100% fit. And she has a much better skin tone for the shoes, too. I was so excited to know that they were going to go to someone who would really enjoy them… and look amazing in them, too.

BEST GIFT FOR MIKE: Hermes Tie

Even though this is kind of a “boring” gift, I knew it was something he wanted! I picked out a subtle pattern that would look great with his black, navy, and grey suits. It’s very handsome and he’s already worn it to meetings and events.

BEST GIFT FOR GIRLFRIENDS: Nantucket 2″ Mini Basket

For my mahjong girlfriends, I got each girl their own Nantucket 2″ mini basket. (Should out to Mag Made This for making a third one for me in a time crunch!) First of all, the baskets are totally works of art. And we discovered that the baskets make excellent dice shakers. I went on Etsy and got them all dice that match their mahjong sets to pair with the baskets.
