Well it’s still winter here. We have had some sunny days– which makes a huge difference in my overall mood– but it’s still dark early and pretty chilly. I’m struggling with motivation and creativity when it comes to my online presence. I keep waiting for inspiration to strike, but there’s just so much heaviness going on that I’m finding it hard to get creative. I am grateful to have knitting and needlepointing and reading, all of which keeps me off my phone so I’m not being sucked into the doomscrolling. Hopefully my blog post today is a little source of joy, even if only for a few minutes.

The 2016 trend on IG is cracking me up… mostly because everyone seems to be cringing about what they wore and I’m, like, “yea still have it, still wear it.”
Here’s what’s on my radar this week:
ONE // Elle Fanning for Who What Wear
I can’t get enough of this cover shoot with Elle Fanning for Who What Wear. So fun and quirky. In a lot of ways it feels like old-school magazine editorial shoots. I wish to see more of this in the future! It’s so much more interesting than just standard over-edited glamor shots.
TWO // Ruffle Collar Blouse
Wow– talk about a great find! Old Navy has been really stepping up their style game. This is very Doen-esque but for a fraction of the price. And it’s 50% off right now so it’s even more affordable. The listing says it’s 100% cotton, too!!
THREE // Louise Carmen Journals
My sister and I have been lusting over the Louise Carmen journals that have popped up everywhere online. She and I have been quite tempted to book a trip to Paris like these girls to pick one out Unfortunately, I don’t see a last minute spontaneous trip abroad in my near future with two little guys at home… but a girl can dream! Every year I fall victim to the “a new notebook will change my life,” but I fear these might actually, ha. A brand sent me a small one inspired by the Louise Carmen journals and it’s my “knitting journal” and it’s very cute. Etsy has some cute, affordable options!
FOUR // Chunky Cotton Cardigan
Boden’s social media marketing is working on me because I was heavily influenced by their gorgeous knits right now. I was actually talking to a friend about how Boden has so many hidden gems and the quality never misses. Especially their knits. This bright Kelly green cardigan was a no-brainer for me. LOVE.
FIVE // Alysa Liu
OMG watching Alysa Liu skate is everything. I watched an interview she did about how she quit the sport and then decided to come back on her own terms… and wow, I’m so glad she did. The way she skates is actually crazy– she floats across the ice and makes it look unbelievably graceful and effortless… and she’s so strong too. I could watch her for hours. Will definitely be cheering for her through the winter Olympics. (The opening ceremony is only 21 days away, but who’s counting?)
