WEEK OF OUTFITS 12.14.21

All of a sudden, I’m in the Christmas crunch. I felt pretty good about where things stood for Christmas, but now that it’s right around the corner, I’m realizing just how many things I need to get done between now and then. I typically take some time off, but I won’t be able to take off as many consecutive days because of the timing of my book. (And is there a such thing as time off anyway with a four month old? Ha!)

LAST WEEK’S WIN: Elsa and I planned a quick day trip to the city. We wanted to see the Hill House pop up and decided to also visit Ralph’s on the Upper East Side. It was such a fun way to get into the holiday spirit!

THIS WEEK’S GOAL: I sat down yesterday and made a master list (divided into days) of what I need to do between now and when we leave for Christmas. A bit overwhelmed, but seeing it broken down into days is definitely helping…. Let’s do this!

TUESDAY

I had a couple of meetings in the morning to prep for 2022 (how?!) and then was supposed to go into the city, but it was canceled. Ended up going to the mall for a quick trip with Elsa, which I really needed to do to make a bunch of returns from online purchases. I haven’t been in a super festive-outfit-mood this year, but a little pop of red felt festive “enough.”

WEDNESDAY

A boring, normal day at home. I did have to take Teddy to the vet for an unaccepted visit (nothing major but he needed to get in that day), but I was just so relieved they could squeeze him in! And then Elsa and I did a wreath making class at Colly Flowers in Morristown. It was a really fun girls’ night out.

THURSDAY

We took Jack to see Santa with Mike’s parents. He obviously had no idea what was going on and it was also pushed right up against his last nap of the day so it felt a little touch and go…. but it was ultimately a success!

FRIDAY

Elsa and I went into the city. I drove us (and the baby) in and it was really nice having a car. Usually we would take the train in, or even an Uber, but having a car with a baby made things so much easier in my opinion.

SATURDAY

We had friends over for a little brunch at the house mid-morning and then we had a much-needed lazy day at home.

SUNDAY

We had another family over for breakfast on Sunday morning. It was really nice (and Mike made an amazing quiche!) to see them. I wanted to do another lazy day, but needed to get prepared for the week ahead. Grocery shopping, a little bit of work, organizing, etc.

MONDAY

Whew! Such a productive Monday. I got up early and hit the ground running with work before Jack woke up and then spent all day caring for him and trying to wrap up campaign shoots during nap times. Kind of feel like a chicken with my head cut off over here… but getting it done.
