I did a sponsored post for Abbey Glass this week on Instagram. I actually already had a couple of Abbey Glass dresses in my closet (this gorgeous pink dress and this fun mini dress) and these new additions are just as incredible. It’s so rare these days to find black tie options that feel unique and special without being (literally) $1000. And while renting is a nice option, sometimes it can be risky. Sizing issues, shipping issues, wear and tear issues. You just don’t know what you’re going to get.
Abbey Glass dresses and gowns are just feminine perfection. They’re gorgeously made and look incredible on– and are very reasonably priced given the high quality. These don’t feel like they came off the rack from a tired department store.
Black tie can be especially intimidating and weddings have increasingly become hard to navigate sartorially. (Absurdly specific directions for what to wear to weddings is one of my biggest pet peeves.) When in doubt, you’ll never regret dressing UP though. Plus, it just feels good to really get dolled up. In an ever-increasing casual world, it’s fun to have an excuse for an updo and a gown.

The blue one-shoulder gown I wore feels timeless but still interesting… classic shape + a striking detail. I felt like a modern day princess. It’s the kind of dress that doesn’t need much else. And the gold-and-blue floral gown feels a little more romantic and joyful. (It comes in a gorgeous dark blue version too that would be perfect as a mother of the bride/groom gown!) I love that black tie doesn’t have to mean black or overly serious. Color, texture, subtle sheen, it can still be playful while honoring the formality of the event.

My rule of thumb for wedding guest dressing: pick a silhouette you feel amazing in, and let the dress do the work. Bonus points if it’s something you can rewear to a gala, holiday party, or (very) fancy date night. A great gown shouldn’t be a one-time moment. Dressing up is fun. Say yes to a bow!
