Everyone tells you motherhood goes by in a blur, and they’re right. The big milestones are memorable, but lately I’ve been savoring the little moments.

Everyone tells you motherhood goes by in a blur, and they’re right. The big milestones are memorable, but lately I’ve been savoring the little moments—the way tiny fingers reach for mine, bedtime stories said through sleepy giggles, and how my boys insist their stuffed animals join us at breakfast. These ordinary, everyday pieces of life are the ones I’m trying to hold onto the tightest.

I’ve been keeping a running note in my phone, jotting down the sweet things they say before I forget them. It’s become my favorite kind of journal—imperfect, messy, and totally filled with love. I may not always be able to freeze time, but writing it down feels like the next best thing.

I jumped at the chance to go to Paris for Memorial Day weekend. Mike is in London this week so we went up a little early to spend a few days in Paris. It’s maybe not the most convenient to go over for three days (the return flight is always the worst), but I am not going to say no to Paris 😉

When we got home, I had to dig myself out of quite the hole email-wise. My inbox is typically pretty manageable throughout the summer. People are on vacation, it’s normally a slower period for campaigns, and there aren’t too many events going on and no school activities. As I worked my way through emails, my calendar started filling up. It’s exciting with a lot of fun things on the docket. After a good couple of months of rest, I’m ready for what’s to come.
