Despite being a design lover, I struggle with actually putting a room together. At this point in my life, I’m all too happy to delegate to interior designers (like Jennifer Muirhead, who transformed our living room, guest bathroom, primary bedroom, and dining room)! Outside of small projects, I stick to scrolling Pinterest and flipping through books nowadays. This collection of interior design coffee table books– most of which are relatively new releases– would make great conversation starters and the most wonderful gifts!!
The Art of Gracie // The Harmonious Home // Ralph Lauren: A Way of Living
A Place to Call Home // Everybody Loves Stripes // Budget Luxury
Forever Beautiful // An Affair With a House // Spatial Alchemy
Interior Design Coffee Table Books
The Art of Gracie // Is this not the most gorgeous book ever?! The attention to detail is impressive– even the page edges have a Gracie pattern on them. Frankly, it’s too stunning to NOT be at the top of your coffee table book stack.
The Harmonious Home // This is Rebecca Atwood’s third design book and the concept is really creative: how to design a home inspired by different landscapes. I’ve heard that bringing the outdoors in is supposed to make a space feel more peaceful, which is definitely relevant to my interests, ha.
Ralph Lauren: A Way of Living // This may be the largest book of the bunch! There’s so much beautiful photography to flip through, I think it’s better left open on its own, witih the dust jacket off, than as part of a stack of books.
A Place to Call Home // I saw This Oak House (IYKYK!) post this as one of her favorite coffee table books, so of course, I want my own copy now!! I’d be thrilled to hire Gil Schafer as my architect– he designs the coziest homes.
Everybody Loves Stripes // Consider this my official request for more interior design coffee table books about stripes!! Schumacher always publishes beautiful books and I love that there’s one dedicated to my favorite pattern.
Budget Luxury // My friend Clare’s first book is officially available for pre-order! She designed my office and has always had such a unique perspective about design. I love that all of her advice transcends personal style, so everyone can benefit from her creativity.
Forever Beautiful // It’s no secret that the color palettes Mark Sikes works with are exactly my cup of tea, ha! His use of blue and white specifically is iconic. His other books include such stunning photography and I’m sure this one is no exception. I mean, the living space on the cover alone…
An Affair With a House // I love getting a peek into the homes of designers!! It’s fun to see their favorite recommendations all together. Bunny Williams published the original version of An Affair With a House 20 years ago, but this one comes with a new cover, introduction, and even chapter.
Spatial Alchemy // This one is for the serious design enthusiasts (and if you’re a little bit woo-woo, all the better). It makes the case that how you design your home can literally change your life and tells you exactly how to make it happen. I’m definitely intrigued!!
