I’ve been meaning to share these adorable chairs I was gifted for the boys’ room! The Hill House x Nestig Hug Mini Chairs! I got them in the Blue Botanical print (the prettiest soft blue floral with tiny hidden animal… so charming and gender neutral!) and had each one monogrammed with the boys’ names. It’s such a special touch and makes their room feel a little more personal.
Now that the boys are slightly older, I’ve been trying to transition their room from a nursery to a real hang out spot. We started spending a lot more time in there for play– especially once Rory weaned. I had been looking for little chairs for the room and I’m so glad I waited for these because the print and design of the chair is so perfect!! I was thinking of asking my parents for chairs for their room for Christmas and now that we have them, I can confirm that they would make an excellent gift for a toddler or little kid.
The chairs have quickly become a favorite part of our daily routine. Every morning, after breakfast, we’ll usually end up in their room reading, playing, or just hanging out. The chairs are perfectly sized for them– I was surprised, in a good way, that there’s plenty of room for them to grow into them more, even Jack at age four. The pillowy shape really lives up to the name “Hug Chair.” They’re soft, cozy, and surprisingly sturdy.
I love that the design feels elevated enough to blend in with the rest of our home decor while still being fun for the boys. The little handle on the back makes it easy for them to drag their chairs from room to room (which happens often!). And, as any parent knows, the fact that the slipcover is machine washable is a huge bonus. They’re easy and fun to put together.
It’s been so sweet to see the boys take ownership of “their” chairs, too. Jack will grab a stack of books and settle right in, while Rory climbs in and out, giggling the whole time. It’s become our cozy corner for everyday moments, and I’m so glad we have them.
