I’ve been on the hunt for some new dresses. I just feel like the styles I used to gravitate towards just aren’t doing it for me this summer. And I know it’s the end of July, which means fall styles are going to start creeping in. Some years I do look forward to fall fashion, but I have to admit that this year I’m just too hot to think that far ahead. It’s been like steamy and muggy and just hot hot hot.
We have a trip up to Mike’s family’s lake house coming up and that specifically got me looking towards dresses I could wear up there. Every time we’ve gone up in recent years it’s been incredibly hot. It’s a little bit more laid back and relaxed, but I want to be comfortable. Especially with a toddler in tow this year (Jack wasn’t walking yet last summer!), I know I want comfortable dresses I can throw on without thinking.
PUFF SLEEVE
Okay, I actually bought this dress for an upcoming wedding! I have this style in another color and absolutely love how it looks. I couldn’t resist the blue and white floral. So stunning and will be fun to accessorize.
GINGHAM BELTED DRESS
I have this style in a top and when I realized it came in a dress, well I knew I needed it. The top has been one of my most worn pieces this summer (and I know a bunch of you guys ordered it and love it, too). I feel like this dress will equally become a staple. Even just to throw on after swimming… love.
FLUTTER SLEEVE MINI SHIRTDRESS
GAP has been killing it lately! I am a sucker for a good shirtdress and the material of this one (plus the flutter sleeve) makes it a little more relaxed and perfect for lazy summer days where you still want to look put together. (Without the fussiness.)
APRON DRESS
This dress just couldn’t be more beautiful. A slightly elevated dress with perfectly feminine details. I am picturing putting it on for dinner after a long day in the sun with a slicked back fresh out of the shower low bun!
LINEN SHIFT
A shift is, in my opinion, the go-to summer throw on dress. 10/10.
