DIARY No. 131

Here’s what we’ve been up to for the last couple of weeks, according to my camera roll.

We have a little reward chart for Jack to collect stickers to earn a prize. I’ve been letting him pick out what the prize is every time. One time it was a spaceship football from Whole Foods he had been eyeing (when did the grocery store turn into a toy store btw?!) and most recently he chose a trip to Dunkin! We made it a whole adventure by walking there and sitting inside where we each picked out doughnuts. So sweet.

Rory and I love our special days together! Grateful for good weather because it makes getting outside that much more enjoyable. PS loving this outfit for Rory– sweatshirt, shorts, and sneaks.

I had the most glorious night in a hotel by myself. I ate dinner while reading my kindle, went back to the room where I played mahjong on my iPad, and then needlepointed while watching jeopardy. I was asleep before 10pm and then I got an uninterrupted night of sleep and it was needed.

Slowly working my way through the Wishbone Kitchen cookbook. Mike and I loved this baked cod and tomato recipe. Delicious! It was a little too spicy for the boys, but we will for sure make it again for grownup only dinners this summer.

All the mahjong. We are HOOKED. I am loving this current set up, by the way. Tortoiseshell racks, the colorful mat (c/o), and then my new “Le Fete” tiles. Sparks joy.  (Get 10% off with Carly10!)

Two of my friends were raving about these open ear buds. I bought them to give them a try and I’m obsessed. They’re so much safer than wearing in ear or over ear headphones while I’m walking around. Since we spend a lot of time walking, I really wanted to put them to the test. It’s such a nice experience. Because they’re not in your ear, and instead kind of hook onto the edge of your ear, you almost completely forget you’re wearing headphones. It’s a much better sensory experience as you can hear everything around you. I love them! (I had questions about whether they work for phone calls too and yes! They do!)

Jack’s first Phillies game with Pops and Grandmom and dada. He has been on cloud nine ever since. What a core memory!!! I think he’s at the age where he’s really starting to form solid memories (I have memories from age 3!) I hope it’s something he never forgets!

Noe Pond is open again! Nothing better than scooping the boys from school and going for a swim before dinner. Rory went last year, of course, but he wasn’t mobile and would often nap during our trips. Now he’s totally involved and included. He REALLY loves the water. (PS the boys’ rash guards!)

Noe has a little snack shack with some delicious food… and we can also bring our own snacks/meals, or have outside restaurants delivered. This week, we had Wonder delivered and it was delicious. I tried the Thai peanut salad and I’m already craving getting it again.
