Back to the Basics

With spring just around the corner, I’m dying to bring out my “springy” clothes!  I seriously cannot wait to wear my shift dresses and critter shorts!  While fun prints and bright colors are exciting, sometimes it’s nice to just be able to throw on a comfortable outfit, while still looking put together.  I think the trick is to go back to the basics.

I’m obsessed with Gap’s Favorite T’s.  They come in all types (v-neck, crew neck, etc) and lots of colors.  J. Crew jeans can’t be beat.  They actually carry “short” sizes, which saves on alterations or shipping costs.  I just purchased the Matchstick and Bootcut jeans yesterday.  LOVE THEM!  Sandals or ballet flats complete the look.  I prefer Jack Rogers.  My feet have permanent circles on my heels from the soles of the shoes.  I wear them all the time.
For extra flair, that’s still simple, I’ll add a belt, a hair ribbon, or (don’t get carried away… remember: basic!) an enamel bracelet.  I really hate overdoing it with jewelry.  Most days I’ll only wear pearl earrings and a pearl necklace.
Simplicity is key here!  You’ll look stylish, preppy, and ultimately put together… all the while comfortable.  Perfect for running mundane errands around town 🙂
