A Dress for Dining Al Fresco

With gorgeous summer weather here in full force, we have been ALL ABOUT dining al fresco. We still haven’t ventured to restaurants yet (our town just started allowing outdoor seating), but we have been cooking a lot at home to eat outside, or when we’re feeling ~fancy~ ordering curbside pick up to bring home to eat. Plus a bunch of cocktail hours on the various porches of Mike’s sisters and parents. Not going to lie, most of the time, we’re very casual. But it feels like a real treat nowadays to get dressed up even if it’s just for our backyard!

While I normally switch from black in the winter to navy in the summer, I’ve actually been leaning into black more. I have a long-sleeve version of this dress from last winter and was thrilled to see it available in a sleeveless version. It’s one of those brilliant pieces of clothing that can be worn for a bunch of different events depending on the styling. Dressed up with heeled sandals, dressed down with Jack Rogers, somewhere in the middle with a pair of espadrilles.

The dress fits true to size, but because there are no sleeves it’s more forgiving. If you’re in between sizes I think you’d be comfortable going down a size. I love the swing of the dress and, of course, the pockets. I also think it hits at a great point on the legs… not too short or too long.

It’s also available in white and, well, I’m tempted.
