One of my favorite terms online right now is “comfort creator.” I’m so prone to doom scrolling and I want to chuck my phone out the window most days. But… I have a nice little group of comfort creators that I like to follow, specifically on Youtube, for when I want something cozy and stress-free.
A comfort creator is going to be specific to what you enjoy and what calms your nervous system. But I wanted to share mine in case you’re into the same things or want to add a couple of new gals into your own comfort creator rotation. (And if you haven’t jumped on the comfort creator train yet, I can’t recommend it enough. Consider this a good starting point.)
Some things I look for in a comfort creator:
– LONG content. It doesn’t need to be exciting or action packed. I just like a long video I can put on to listen to/watch while I do something else, like answering emails, folding laundry, or knitting/needlepointing.
– Feels like Facetiming. I love a video that just feels like I’m chatting with a friend casually. Hearing what they’re up to. Talking through the specifics of their day. No detail is too mundane. I want to hear it all!
– Good vibes. Obviously this is not exactly measurable, but I just want to feel good watching the content. I don’t want to walk away feeling stressed or “less than” (i.e. no comparison game). I don’t necessarily need to walk away feeling any more or less motivated to do anything. I just want to feel content and happy afterward.

GABBY WHITEN
I love Gabby! Her vlogs are so relaxing and I love seeing what she’s up to in NYC. I wish she uploaded more but I get more Gabby fixes via her fantastic Substack. Her videos are a little bit of fashion, a little beauty, a healthy dose of NYC.
KENZIE ELIZABETH
Kenzie has been in my YouTube rotation for a while and recently she’s become even more of a fave. We have soooo many of the same interests (needlepoint, mahjong, sourdough!) and I love watching her lean into her hobbies. She’s a bit younger than I am so sometimes I watch to live vicariously through her. I love all the creative themed parties she hosts, too.
SYDNEY GRAHAM
Syd has been one of my favorite Instagram follows since the pandemic. I originally followed her for her sewing patterns but she’s since become a go-to creator for all things cozy and crafty. I especially love her vlogs when she goes to quaint towns for solo trips to knit and craft. She’ll go shopping for supplies and stay in super cute little cottages. I’m inspired to do the same one day.
PS I’ve been considering relaunching my Youtube channel. I miss making videos– and I think it’d be nice to be able to do longer form video content that feels cozier than quick TikToks or IG Stories that disappear.
