WE’RE HAVING A…
A BOY!

After our 12-week scan, I was absolutely positive we were having a boy. It was so funny… no one except for one niece and a guy at a car dealership thought it could be a girl. Everyone else thought, “Boy, boy, boy.” Plus, my whole family has always had the prediction that I would be a boy-mom and my sister (who was very much a tomboy) would end up with princess-and-bow loving girls. For weeks, I had zero idea. (The only kind of dreams I was having was about multiples, but I knew it was a singleton from an early ultrasound.)
But there was something about seeing him on the 12-week scan, there was no question in my head that the baby was a boy. And Mike thought so too! The blood test came back about a month later and confirmed that we were right!!!
We are both over the moon.
I did not have the willpower to wait until the birth to find out what we were having. I think for me it’s been really helpful to be able to “visualize” our baby and to use his name. The plan right now is going to be to keep his name private until he’s born. But it’s been so fun for me to call him his name when I talk to him all day. (And I was glad I was right about him being a boy because I had already been calling him by his name the month between the 12-week scan and the blood test results, ha!)
There are so many things I’m excited about! It’s hard to not put expectations and dreams onto a child, but I just can’t wait to see his personality unfold. Like what will he be interested in? Will he be like a mini Mike? What will he look like?
I can’t express how excited I am to meet him in August!!!!
