I have a sponsored Instagram with J. Crew coming out today, but I love the outfit so much that I had to give it a permanent spot on the blog. Our social calendar is starting to fill up and I’m starting to think about holiday party outfits!!
Who knew my closet was missing a sequin skirt. It’s fun and fancy! I also liked pairing it with a cozy sweater (which also looks great with a pair of jeans and boots, btw!) as a nice juxtaposition moment.
Right? The skirt?! Do we love as much as I love?!
I’m clearly feeling the whole thing. So when I’m doing branded collaborations, there are all different kinds of processes. Sometimes I can look at everything online and pick from there. Sometimes the brand sends a deck with items I can choose from. And sometimes it’s a mix. It really depends. Even though it doesn’t sound very “hard” it is a bit of a challenge because I’m 90% of the time choosing products from the internet and then hoping it actually works when I receive said products. (Usually there is time to pick out new items, but sometimes you just have to make it work because there’s a deadline!) Anyway because of this, I usually pick out items that I feel confident about from the get-go. Silhouettes I know I love. Items that I know feel “me.” And I rarely take any risks. I was holding my breath when I placed this order because… it’s really outside of my comfort zone and something I wouldn’t immediately assume would work on me.
When I put it on, I immediately loved it! Like who am I! A mini skirt…. with SEQUINS?! Felt like a whole new me!
The Villa coat is my new favorite silhouette. It feels so chic and like an updated cocoon coat… IYKYK. (I recommend sizing down as it’s quite oversized.)
