NEW YEAR ORGANIZATION

My goal for the end of the year is to soak up the last of the holiday season… and, hopefully, not much else. That said, I do have the urge to channel my inner professional organizer and start decluttering! Because of my job, I receive a lot of packages– I do my best to share and donate as much as I can, but at this time of year, it can be difficult to keep up with. And in our older home, storage space is at a minimum, so there’s really no “good place” to put it all. I know this is one of the most common New Year’s resolutions, but I really want to go into next year on the right foot, with a fresh start and a tidy home. Schedule time to get some solid hours of organizing in, whether I’m focused on small tasks or one big project. At the end of the day, a well-organized home is a good idea for my mental health and benefits the whole family!

New Year Organization

Document Organizer // This…is genius. One of the most clever filing systems I’ve seen, really. There’s a spot for every important document, and it comes with a ton of envelopes, labels, and even a table of contents. It reminds me of our house binder in a way, but definitely much cuter!!l

Stacking Drawers ($20!) // I gasped when I saw this. Tortoiseshell is one of my favorite patterns and the price can’t be beat. Storage like this is one of the easiest and best ways to corral small items.

Sheet Set Organizer // When my linen closet is a mess, I feel like a mess. Popping your sheets into these organizers is an easy task, not to mention a rewarding first step if you’re feeling overwhelmed.

Quilted Basket // How cute, right?! I’m obsessed. This fabric basket comes in a handful of other patterns and would be a great pop of color for a playroom.

Hanging Basket ($20!) // I imagine this being a cute addition to a family command center– it’d be great for keeping mail or kid art from getting lost in the shuffle!!

Woven Basket // Little baskets like this are my favorite way to keep the boys’ toys from littering our living room floor. Plus, this one comes with a lid so they’re completely out of sight, out of mind.

Wood Hangers // Even though they take up more room than other types, I love the way wood hangers always make clothing items look more expensive. It’s like shopping your very own boutique! This set of 30 comes out to ~$1 each, which I think is a great deal.

Hamper // Not only is this hamper absolutely darling, but it’s SUPER functional. The patterned interior is wipeable, plus there’s a zipper storage pouch, magnetic lid, and option wheels. It’s even collapsible, so it doesn’t have to take up valuable space in your bedroom closet!
