I know this is kind of early… but I’ve started thinking about our Christmas decoration direction for the year. Maybe I’m boring (I’m considering it ~sustainable~) but we use the same decorations every year and just add and tweak it a little. After we redid our living room, we changed directions to better go with the pinks and I love it. Orange slices, burgundy ribbons, a little bit of check pattern.
(We also have a second tree where I plan on doing our special ornaments and then kid ornaments as we collect those…. Right now I have a bowl where I put our special ornaments for display and we have yet to get kid ornaments from school, but I know that will happen eventually! My family always had a “traditional” tree and a “kid” tree growing up.)
This year, “Ralph Lauren Christmas” is trending, which I love… but it’s just not quite our home’s style. I was thinking about it and I think I’ve been trying to go for more of a “Little Women Christmas.” Like cozy and warm. A touch of color, leaning into the pink family. Traditional and classic, yes, but also feels like it’s homemade, too.
I bought a bunch of scrapbook paper to make paper stars to add all over the home and I think it’ll be a fun little touch. I did a paper chain in the boys’ room last Christmas and we all loved it so much that we (literally) never took it down.
