I’ve been having too much fun with Halloween decorations. Decorating used to really just be for me and now I’m having even more fun decorating with the boys in mind. Their enthusiasm motivates me!! I’m sure I’ll do a few tweaks here and there and I already have some more mini pumpkins on order…. but here’s the bulk of the decorating. Pretty simple compared to what you might find on Pinterest, but it feels very “us” and festive without being terribly scary or too over the top!

The bats are Jack’s favorite so I added a few more this year. I love how they reflect on the mirror. I splurged on a Mackenzie Childs pumpkin and it honestly may be my favorite MC piece ever. I might need to start collecting them. The perfect pop on the mantle. And this glass ornament wreath is actually way nicer than I expected and the colors look incredible with the rest of our living room. It’s a bit fragile (one of the ornaments broke in transit), so it’s probably best kept high out of reach. (Here’s a more affordable version, too.)

My mums are taking forever to bloom (I’m starting to worry the burnt orange ones are actually never going to…). I’ll keep watering them though and give them a few more days. I loved picking out pumpkins for the steps. These all felt so fun and quirky– filled with personality! I upgraded our front door wreath because the one I’ve been using for five years had seen better days…. definitely worth it. The pumpkins look SO good.

We spend most of our time as a family in the family room so I wanted something extra fun that the boys would like in there. Rifle Paper Co sent me this garland and it couldn’t be more perfect. And a little Halloween countdown for the kitchen. Jack has been sprinting down the stairs to move Frankenstein every morning!

One night I was doing some retail therapy (you know when you’re trying to distract yourself from the doom scroll???) and added all of these felt critters to my cart. WHOOPS. I have to say, they’re so freaking cute I actually don’t know what to do. I love them and am tempted to keep them out year round.
