Let me preface this by saying, I realize I’m not an expert in professional outfits! Aside from one year at a startup after I graduated college, I’ve always worked for myself. That said, given the uptick in return to office mandates, a roundup of summer work outfits felt relevant (though this isn’t aimed at formal dress codes in the slightest– I know my limits, ha). I tried to incorporate pieces that fit in a summer work wardrobe, but also be styled for more “off-duty” or casual looks.
Summer Work Outfits

Chambray Top // Mule Flats (50% off!) // Charm Scrunchies // Chino Pants
I spent a LOT of time thinking I could never pull off wide leg pants. Now? I’m all for it! These chinos are cropped just right, come in four versatile colors, and are perfect for summer office wear. Also, I really want to talk about the “charm” scrunchies– the beads are the finishing touch I never realized similar scrunchies were missing, and I’m obsessed. If I had a long morning commute, I’d be tempted to throw my hair in one of these daily!

Shirt Dress // Heeled Sandals // Claw Clip // Heart Necklace
Hot weather almost always calls for a breezy dress! I will always love a shirt dress, and this one is the perfect balance between timeless and trend-forward. It comes in a good mix of other patterns and solids, but after my gingham roundup last week, I couldn’t resist choosing the gingham here too. With pops of red as an Americana nod!!

Button-Up Shirt // Pearl Studs // Sandals // Midi Skirt
I love this look if you have more of a traditional office dress code (again though, I’m no expert in work environments). I can’t with the button-up’s ric rac trim– just darling!! You can’t tell, but it’s actually a crop top, which I like with the high-waisted white midi because you can still tuck it in, but the blue won’t show through the fabric. The open-toed sandals may not fly if you have an important meeting, but you can always swap in a pair of ballet flats!
